So sorry I’ve been MIA since last Sunday! Things have been a little crazy creating my tattoo design book, a magazine spread, working for a client, designing my own identity brand AND running my business, Raw & Pure… Even saying all that makes my heart freeze a little! No wonder i’m sat here squinting with sore eyes (early night for me I think).
I’m going to be finish answering those questions I got my lovely Instagram followers to ask me last week. So, here we go:
11) Can you talk about increasing your leg exercise to gain muscle and upping your weights?
Yes. I always talk about my love for weight training on Instagram and how in particular i’ve been increasing this for my lower body, especially my glutes. Through Lauren Gleisberg’s ‘LGFitAndLean2016’ plan we had leg days on Mondays and Glutes on Thursdays (normally) however, I added in an extra heavy leg & glutes session on Saturdays. Normally I look on YouTube for my workouts and I’m a big fan of ‘Fitness Blender’ or a girl named ‘Vicky Justiz’ (she likes to show off her butt a lot but her workouts are great). Lots of these videos focus on curettes lunges, squats, deadlifts, glue bridges, lunges etc.. It’s important to focus on engaging your glutes properly though. Really SQUEEZE them and actually THINK about them. Trust me it works.
12) How did you get into making RAW desserts? Where do you get your inspiration?
I get asked this a lot! I actually got into making RAW desserts after visiting a local cafe by me who sells the best Raw treats. After buying a few boxes for my birthday and christmas I decided to try and create them myself but different versions. Since then I’ve been creating more different recipes every week! I sell to customers and also cafes. It’s crazy – all this since December! I get a lot of my inspiration from Pinterest. Or, i’ll ask people their favourite naughty treat and then find ways to make it healthy! It’s quite easy once you know the ingredients for certain fillings and bases whether it will work or not 🙂
13) Are you juggling both LGFitAndLean2016 and BBG?
Yes. However, I complete all of Lauren’s workouts throughout the week and then i’ll add on BBG workouts after those but some days I only do 1 circuit of BBG instead of the two. This is mainly due to time or dependant on how intense my weight session was before BBG. I try not to stress about it too much if I cannot fit in a BBG workout because weights is my main focus at the moment.
14) What foods should I completely avoid?
Hmm this is a tricky one. Obviously a happy and balanced lifestyle means not avoiding foods you love completely. Instead have those kind of foods once a week for one of your meals. It’s all about balance. However, on the days your not having your ‘treat’ meal I would avoid sugary foods. Such as sweets, chocolate and ice cream. For me, these really increase my sweet tooth and make clean eating so much harder. But, once you have the habit of not having them every day it does become easier and you won’t constantly crave them! In fact, my eating habit probably avoids refined sugars for the entire week and that’s without me purposely avoiding them. It’s just a part of my lifestyle and habit. Instead I find sugar from fruits, nuts, veg etc. Mother nature’s candy and all that…
15) Can you remember your very first fitness plan?
My very first fitness plan was Jillian Michaels, 30 days shred. About two years ago and one night after work I picked up the DVD and thought ‘I’m gonna get smoking body’ (yes, really) and literally went from there. I honestly didn’t expect it to continue. I thought it would just be a phase and i’d give up because at that time I genuinely hated sports or anything fitness related and spent my weekends binge drinking and lying in bed the next day recovering with pizza and sweets. But, here I am now – proof that anybody can do it.
