NEW AND IMPROVED LOW CARB PROTEIN PANCAKES RECIPE //

pancakes

Pancakes on a Sunday morning have become a must in my household. There’s nothing quite like waking up to the smell of pancakes and then snuggling back in bed with them.

I love ALL types of pancakes, however i’ve been after the perfect low carb recipe since I created my last one (which you can find here). Whilst it was a decent recipe for really low carb pancakes – it could have been better. So, Sunday morning I found myself creating a new mouth watering LOW CARB protein pancake recipe that was not only delicious but fluffy, too. These pancakes are raw cacao flavoured and are amazing. And thanks to the protein they’re packed with essential ingredients for muscle growth (including BCAA’s) and superfoods! Hence the green colour but don’t fret – no superfood can be tasted!

These pancakes are the perfect balance of cacao. I sometimes find that cacao can be a little too strong or bitter however, these are just right. A right treat for a Sunday morning!

Anyway, I posted these pancakes on Instagram Sunday morning (like immediately after devouring them) and everybody went crazy for them! So, I thought it would be rude to keep them from you guys too.

You can top your pancakes with whatever you like but I always tend to go for some frozen berries, greek yoghurt and seeds. This way, the carbs are kept to a minimum (compared to your heavy dense carb pancakes) and it keeps you full until lunchtime!

Ingredients

1 scoop Vivolife raw cacao protein powder
4 tbsp regular milk/Alpro almond milk
2 egg whites
2 tsp Sukrin coconut flour
Pinch baking powder

Method

Begin by beating your eggs together and then add the rest of the ingredients and whisk together until you have no lumps. Heat a pan on high with 1 tsp coconut oil and with a tissue rub the pan so it’s nicely covered in the oil. Pour on your batter (I done mini pancakes) and cook on one side for roughly 3-4 minutes. Flip and repeat.

Finish by topping to your hearts desire. Heck, go crazy!

Enjoy!

Spelt Bread With Chia Seed Raspberry Jam – Hannah&Fitness February 24, 2017 - 2:12 pm

[…] However, with bread comes toast. Am I right? And with toast comes a delicious spread of some sort. So, low and behold the sweetest, jam-like jam I’ve ever made! My raspberry chia seed jam is stupidly simple to make, contains 5 cupboard ingredients and you can use it for practically anything – not just for topping the bread/toast with! I love adding it to my porridge or on top of my favourite pancake recipe. […]
