May Fitness Favourites

by hannahandfitness

Ok, hold up… How on earth is it almost June? In just over a week i’ll be on stage performing a sweaty HIIT workout at the Southsea & Portsmouth Fitness Festival and I am pooping myself, for sure!

Anyhow, May has been great. Damn quick, but great. It’s been full of exciting events (BeFit & Bodypower), it’s been full of new products to try and it’s been full of exciting emails – sign up to my newsletter for all the behind the scenes gossip.

I’ve come across a few new products this month and i’m just bursting to share them with you guys. Especially the food and drink products cause who doesn’t love food and drink, right?! So grab a cuppa, sit back and scroll on through my list of May favourites….

VivoLife – Plant based BCAA and coconut water

favourites bcaa.jpg

I’ll be honest here. When I first tasted this product I wasn’t quite sold on the first sip. Now, i’m not sure if it was the fact that i’m not the biggest lover of coconut water (or anything beside water, if I’m honest) or that I very rarely drink BCAA’s (opps) but after a few more sips I increasingly became a fan of this refreshing BCAA drink.

The drink itself is sweet, mainly because it’s sweetened with baobab and blueberry but if anything it manages to quench your thirst before, during or after an intense workout. Plus, like all of Vivo’s products, it has amazing macro’s with no added sugar or other nonsense.

If aren’t familiar with BCAA’s then they are perfect for those who work hard during their workouts and lift weights. BCAA’s aim to quickly sustain your workout, reduce muscle breakdown and help your recover faster whilst on the go. Perfect for strength, endurance and hydration.

Xite – Iced green tea energy drink (mango flavour)

favourties xite.jpg

I first got my hands on these ah-mazing iced green tea energy drinks (with added BCAA’s) a month or so ago. After I fell in love with them (especially the mango flavour) I decided to join the team of Xite up in Bodypower earlier this month where they actually launched Xite. It was an amazing day and the drinks practically flew off the bar! To me, these drinks don’t taste like anything but a natural flavoured iced drink which I think is great. Sometimes, energy drinks and BCAA’s can leave a really sour artificial flavour in the mouth which I hate!

Xite drink’s are free from sugar, contain vitamins and BCAA’s and have a natural caffeine effect. Again, no nonsense with this product!

Tefal – ActiFry

Oh, this one is probably my favourite of them all! This machine is a master piece. I can now (finally)  have restaurant standard crispy sweet potato fries (find the recipe here), and manage to cook up tender fish in no longer than 10 minutes. With the Actifry you can basically fry anything with as little as a teaspoon of oil. No, i’m not lying.

The point of the ActiFry (a healthy fryer) is to re-create your favourite, not so healthy meals (such as a takeaway fish and chips) and turn them into something filling, healthy and homemade. It’s easy as pie to use, it provides delicious meals in a matter of minutes and the best yet… it’s not a pain in the butt to clean, which you get with most kitchen equipment!

Converse – White high tops from MasterShoe

favourites converse.jpg

I do love me some Converse’s, I do. Having these high top’s to add to my ever growing collection was a must! I think I could quite happily live in converse’s – they’re so comfy and their flat soles are perfect for deadlifting, too.

Gymshark – Seamless vest

favourites gymshark.jpg

A few weeks ago I was sat at my office desk, prepped for the new release of the Gymshark seamless leggings, and ready to hit the refresh button dead on 3pm and BAM I still missed out on the leggings (how?!). However, I did manage to get my hands on their new seamless vest in their gorgeous pink pastel colour – marl.

Like all of Gymshark’s products, I am in love. The quality is amazing, the colour is flattering against my skin tone and it fits nice and snug. Also, I’m a bit of a sweaty betty when I workout so I’m happy to say that this is totally sweat proof. Bonus.

Nike Commuters

The heavens have opened! These have got to be the comfiest trainers, EVER. No, I’m not exaggerating either.

I have quite wide feet with a high arch so finding comfy trainers can be somewhat of a challenge at times. However, the new Nike Commuters fit perfectly within my arch and stretch wide enough for pleasing comfort. I would love it if these came in all white! Oh the dream. It’s safe to say that i’ve been living in these ever since they their delivery.

New Look – White jeggings

Ok, totally not fitness related but I thought I should share this one. Hands up if you’re yet to find a good pair of jeggings that don’t go baggy around the croutch, knees and butt area. Yup, that was me a week or so ago, until I came across these little heaven sends.

I’m normally a size 8/ 25 waist, 32 length and wear these in a 6 and 30 length. I prefer the 30 length in these as they act more of an ankle cut for the summer. Plus, at a price of £15.99 you really can’t go wrong!

I agree with Gymshark and Converse! I practically live in them… I’m sure you understand. But I have got to try those coconut BCAAs. I’m addicted to coconut water and I have definitely been slacking on my BCAAs so I might have to get my hand on those!
