For a while now one of my go to Protein companies has been MissFitsNutrition For me, it’s perfect – it’s dairy free, vegan friendly, tastes amazing and contains natural/friendly ingredients. Anyway, a few weeks ago I was fortunately invited to their MissFits X Be:Fit Event with Sambazon. The event was led by two of my favourite fitness girls, Becki (@alt_healthy_becki) and Tessa (@londonpaleogirl) and it consisted of a HIIT/cardio workout featuring (my favourite) a partner phase near the end. The event itself was held in the unique BLOK studios in Clapton, London. Considering I had a 5am start, a 2 hour coach journey and an hour train ride… was it worth it? Definitely.
Once the event began we sweated our way through a circuit consisting of squats, jumping lunges (the devil) mountain climbers, push ups and other exercises to get the heart rate up. After this the cardio continued (as well as the sweat) and then we entered the partner phase. This bit gave us the opportunity to work with a friend or someone new in the workout which involved physical contact. This bit was actually my favourite. It was fun (despite the burn) and it got us laughing! I mean, if you don’t enjoy it… what’s the point? I always go by the saying ‘Don’t do it if you don’t love it!’.
After this we finished with a partner challenge of which we had to squat and high five as long as we could. Yeah, that wasn’t going to happen with the DOM’s I had! Alas, we didn’t win but the tie breaker was amazing – good on the girls!
To finish off the event we had incredible goodies from amazing companies such as, Sambazon, Pip&Nut, Sukrin, LIVE! and so many more… Oh and of course we had to finish off with a post workout MissFits shake – my favourite being the vanilla flavour! And we all got to leave with an amazing goodie bag that I tucked in to straight away on the train. In fact, it was probably the best goody bag I’ve ever recieved!
What I loved about this event in particular was the opportunity to work and meet with complete strangers. Considering I travelled up to London by myself, it can always be a bit wary entering a room full of strangers and then working up a sweat with them. But this event proved to me and many other girls that being in a room full of like minded individuals not only brings you together but also gives the ability to create new friendships through the love of this lifestyle. We don’t have this kind of lifestyle because we feel the pressure of ‘fitness’. We do it because we enjoy it, we benefit from it and because it’s full of an incredible community and it’s events like these that bring us all together! For me, I also got the chance to finally meet two girls who i’ve been following/speaking to for a while now on my Instagram account as well as meeting and making new friendships.
So a big thanks to MissFits, Be:FIT, Sambazon, all the other companies involved and of course Becki and Tessa!
