Firstly, Happy Easter! I hope you’ve all indulged on this occasion and eaten ALL the chocolate! It’s ok to treat your soul to a little indulgence once in a while. A quote I always refer back to is “One bad meal isn’t going to make you fat. Just like one healthy meal isn’t going to make you skinny.” This is so true and something we all need to remember when the guilt starts to sink in. A balanced lifestyle is key!
Secondly, apologises for being a little MIA recently. I’m currently in my last year and month of University so things are pretty HECTIC to say the least! Just one more month left and then I have so many plans for my business, Raw & Pure , this blog and my overall lifestyle towards fitness and nutrition. Exciting things to come, I promise!
If you read my last fitness post you would know I was currently doing Lauren Gleisberg’s plan, ‘LGFitAndLean’. After the plan finished I began Lauren’s plan, ‘Beautyandbooty’. This again is a weight based programme where she provides you a weekly schedule and you pick the exercises from a list you are given. At first glance I instantly knew I wouldn’t like this kind of plan. I admit, i’m quite lazy when it comes to plans. I like everything to be already set out so I can just start and finish without thinking what I need to do next with how many reps/sets etc.. HOWEVER, luckily I realised Lauren provides sample workouts for lazy people, just like me! Hah, phew!
The plan is set out so the first half of the week you focus on ‘volume’ workouts (high reps, lower weight) and the second half is ‘strength’ (low rep, high weight). I have to say… I loved this plan and volume training is now one of my favourites! I really felt the benefits and after a few weeks I saw progress. (All progress pictures can be found on my Instagram – @hannahandfit). I continued with this programme until two weeks ago when University deadlines hit and I was squeezing in workouts wherever and whenever I could. Some days I would do the plan and others I would fit in some youtube workouts. Basically, I wasn’t following the plan religiously and now I’m currently doing the same. For example, yesterday I did a random leg/glutes workout of Lauren’s from a different plan, a weight plan from Zanna Vandijk and finished with a YouTube workout ‘8 minute buns’. Today, I ran 4 miles. I’m currently fitting in strength training 6x a week, run’s on sundays and wednesdays and HIIT once/twice a week.
However, April 3rd Lauren Gleisberg is starting a brand new plan (hooray!), ‘ConfidenceKini’. Here’s the details she has provided:
-6 weeks of free, daily workouts
-workouts can be done at home or in the gym
-booty + abs training focus
-5K Run Plan
-Daily photo challenge
-Tips + Motivation
-Premium Ab Plan (coming soon!)
-Meal Plan Membership (coming soon!)
-Challenge begins Sunday, April 3rd
Knowing that i’ve loved all of Lauren’s previous workouts (they’re completely free btw!) I’m quite content that I’m going to enjoy this plan. My goal is still to grow my glutes so the focus on that is a bonus and abs will be interesting because although I have quite defined abs I only train them once a week – if that!
So, that’s that! April 3rd I will be starting the ‘ConfidenceKini’ challenge. If you’re seriously considering starting weight training I honestly recommend looking at Lauren’s website. This is exactly how I started and can honestly say my best progress and results have been from these programmes! Check her website for details: www.laurengleisberg.com
I’m always happy to answer any questions so please feel free to ask away!
Have a great new week guys!
