Ever been hit by the big bad sweet tooth? Almost every night? Oh I hear ya, girl.
Well, what if I told you that you could satisfy it within 5 minutes, with only 4 ingredients and it’s totally healthy? This recipe calls for a baked apple, topped with greek yoghurt and sprinkled with a delicious wholewheat granola using my favourite granola brand, Lizi’s. Honestly, it’s like a mini baked apple crumble and hit’s those cravings right on the head.
Ingredients
1 apple (Braeburn or Cox’s are my favourite)
Handful of Lizi’s granola (I used the high protein one)
Greek yoghurt or Alpro vanilla yoghurt
Sprinkle of cinnamon
Optional – a squeeze of SweetFreedom fruit syrup
Method
In a microwaveable bowl place your apple and pop it in the microwave for 2 minutes. You will want to keep an eye on your apple. I found that different types of apples have various cooking times. After the two minutes check your apple and if soft (and hot), remove from the microwave and top with the yoghurt, granola and fruit syrup (if you wish to use it). Then finish off by sprinkling your apple crunch with a dusting of cinnamon. Ta da, that’s it! Your very own mini apple crumble. Ok, not exactly – but it does the trick, right?
Note
If you wish to go slightly over the 5 minute limit then microwave your apple for 1 and a half minutes and finish off in the oven on full whack for a few minutes. This allows a slight crunch to the edges which I just love.
