Creative Nature review

If you haven’t heard of them already then Creative Nature are an organisation that were established to promote health, creativity and respect for the environment, by increasing awareness of environmental, social and health issues, and by providing the highest quality natural products.

They produce naturally dense food that have been sourced from some of the most remote and untouched corners of the earth, where the soil is rich in nutrients and has not been damaged by over farming and the use of agro chemicals. This has resulted in a collection of pure, raw, unprocessed and natural products. To me, this couldn’t sound any better. You know exactly what you’re putting inside your body and the fact that it’s packed with natural goodness is even better! (you all know how much I love natural food).

Kindly enough, Creative Nature have sent me three products to review and let me tell you – they weren’t what I expected… With the hype of raw, natural and unprocessed snack bars it can now be difficult to tell the difference between some. All the same ingredients = all the same taste, which sadly can be quite bland at times. However, the two snack bars I have been sent (Peanut/Pea Protein bar and  Raw Cacao Flapjack) have a distinct taste out of them all and this makes them certainly stand out from the crowd.

Peanut Protein – Peanut & Pea Protein Bar

It’s known as a healthy ‘snickers bar’ and on some level I can totally see why – the strong peanut taste is amazing! So amazing that I couldn’t stop eating the little ‘slabs’ I cut up for the photograph. If you’re a firm lover of peanuts then this is your new go to snack – trust me. As you can see from the picture above the bar is far from stingy with it’s big chunks of peanuts which gives it so much texture. This is something I found different from your other usual raw bars of which I believe are quite grainy and lack texture. Overall, this bar offers not only 7g of protein and contains pea protein (80%). It’s also perfect for vegans and those of you who are looking for a gluten free option.

Raw Cacao & Goji Berry Flapjack Bar

If I had to decide then this is probably my favourite bar out of the two. I’ve found that a lot of raw bars (yes, comparing again…) are very date heavy and contain quite a high amount of syrup which makes them quite tasteless and not the best flavoured. However, soon as I bit into this bar I immediately tasted the burst of berries. First come the  flavours of the goji berries, then the sultanas and then finally the chocolate flavour. It was like falling in love all over again. I kid you not. This bar also only contains 125 calories whilst including 1 of your 5 a day (bonus). Although, one thing I would pick up on is the fact that the bar is labelled as a ‘flapjack’. I wouldn’t particularly describe the bar as a flapjack as it doesn’t have the texture that your usual flapjack consists of but other than this I have found my new favourite cacao bar.

Organic Shelled Hemp Seeds

These well sized hemp seeds are almost like giants of the super seed world. If you didn’t know then shelled hemp seeds are a known vegan source of Omegas 3, 6 and 9 offering a source of good fatty acids. Gluten and Dairy free, these hempseeds give a healthy alternative to other edible seeds.

I always find when having seeds that you almost don’t taste or even recognise that they’re in your food because of their small size. However, these were hard to miss and were quite tasty too. I added my hemp seeds to my daily snack of alpo yoghurt and frozen berries – a great low carb/high fat snack which actually left me feeling fuller for longer. You can also use these seeds in your oatmeal (another favourite of mine), blend into smoothies or even add them into recipes.

However, the most important question is (and probably what you’ve been wondering this whole time) “Would I purchase these again?”. Hell yeah! In fact, i’ve already gobbled down two and a half (you know you love it when you try and make it last longer) of the protein bars so I think that answer’s that question. Plain and clear.  I would also purchase more of the hemp seeds too. They were a great way to add flavour and texture to my snacks and oatmeal. Plus, it’s a great way of getting in those omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids.

I will also be creating a simple, quick and super delicious recipe with the hemp seeds so be sure to check back next week!
