FITDELIS Vegan Protein Powder Review and Giveaway

by hannahandfitness

It’s been a while since I last reviewed a protein powder, and with daily consumption, I figured it was time to speak out loud about my current vegan protein powder that I’m using to fuel my daily CrossFit training.

As a rule (and thanks to my rather sensitive stomach) I only go for vegan protein powders – despite not being vegan. I can have WHEY protein every now and then, but with regular consumption, I find that the lactose can upset my stomach and cause havoc with my skin. So, since pretty much the start of my fitness journey, I’ve always had vegan protein powder daily to boost my protein intake and support my fitness goals.

Recently, I decided to switch my protein up a little and move away from my regular Vivo Life vegan protein powder to FITDELIS. Most people like to consume their protein in a shake with added milk/water, I, however, like to go the extra mile and enjoy my post-workout protein as a mousse. Sounds complicated, but believe me, it’s not. Therefore, because I only add a little amount of water to my protein, the taste has to be pretty bang on in powder form – something which many vegan protein powders are not.

So, over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been testing out FITDELIS protein powder – vanilla and chocolate to be precise – and, despite not being a fan of their chocolate protein powder (a little too sweet for my liking), I have, however, been using their vanilla protein powder every day since. Here’s what I think…

FITDELIS Vegan Vanilla Protein Powder

Texture: Smooth and creamy.
Sweetness: Sweet enough. I think if it was anymore sweeter then it’d be a no from me.
Overall flavour: Nice. I always love having my protein as a mousse which, with some protein powders, can be tricky as they rely on the extra milk/water to tone down the sweetness. Fit Deli’s vanilla protein powder works perfectly on its own. Also, many vegan protein powders have a slightly earthy flavour, this one however, does not. Hoorah.
Blended with milk?: Extra creamy. Yum.
Blended as a smoothie?: Fine. No bits or lumps and, when blended with other ingredients, you wouldn’t even guess it’s a protein smoothie.
Protein base: Pea and hemp
How many ingredients?: 12
Protein/serving: 16g (per 30g serving)
Anything else?: Contains organically sourced, premium, plant-based superfood ingredients and is packed full of essential amino acids, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and alkalising properties that serve as a platform for daily well-being and vitality.

10/10?: I’d go with a strong 8. It’d be a 10 if the protein count was slightly higher.

How much?: 600g – £28.00
Overall thoughts: The ingredients are high quality and the flavour and sweetness are actually pretty good. But like I said, I’d like the protein to be higher as I usually go for a protein powder with 20-25g of protein – at least.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

FITDELIS Story

Co-Founders Thomas & Sam came together serendipitously but soon realised they shared a joint belief and commitment for change. The culmination of this was the creation of FIT DELIS with the aim of serving as the gateway for better nutrition & wellbeing. In 2018 Vegan entrepreneur, athlete, and advocate Heather Mills joined the FIT DELS team. Heather is one of life’s great competitors, a true ambassador for change. Heather believes that life is about not being afraid to upset the status quo and, regardless of circumstance, we all have the capacity to enforce change.

Conclusion + Giveaway

I’ve been extremely honest in my review, which is why I’ve stated that I prefer the vanilla protein powder over the chocolate one. That’s simply because I found the chocolate too sweet on its own to have as a mousse and as I’ve previously stated – this is important for me as I genuinely enjoy my post-workout protein this way. I will note however, that when blended into a smoothie, I do enjoy the chocolate flavour.

While it’s not the highest vegan protein powder out there, I do appreciate the high-quality ingredients and thankfully, it’s something my stomach can handle – even twice a day.

And finally, thanks to the kindness of FITDELIS, they’ve gifted me with an extra vegan vanilla protein powder for you guys to win. To enter all you have to do is comment below and you’ll be entered into the giveaway.

Best of luck!
